GoviNena began its mission to support home gardening and food security in Sri Lanka with its initial launch in June 2020. In a major step forward, the app was reimagined and relaunched on December 5, 2022 as the Widya Ruhuna GoviNena Home Gardening App, through a strategic collaboration with WIDYA Pvt Ltd.
This partnership brought together advanced technology and expert local agricultural knowledge to create a more accessible, efficient, and environmentally friendly gardening experience. The upgraded app features enhanced functionality, intuitive design, and enriched content, all aimed at empowering households across Sri Lanka to grow their own food sustainably.
Together, GoviNena and WIDYA Pvt Ltd continue to work toward a shared vision of promoting household food security and sustainable gardening practices for all Sri Lankans.
